A recent study of the most Instagrammed tourist attractions in the United States found that five of the top 15 attractions are in the South.
Walt Disney World in Orlando (No. 2)
Miami’s South Beach (No. 3)
Mardi Gras in Louisiana (No. 6)
Myrtle Beach, S.C. (No. 10)
Charleston, S.C. (No. 12)
The results of the study, conducted by TravelBird, an online European travel company based in Amsterdam, were released in mid-May.
The study ranked 470 attractions in countries around the world based on the number of tags on the social media platform. With the image-based application most popular among Millennial users, TravelBird sought to use the information to gain an understanding of how global travel destinations measure up on social media.
