Flavor Profile

Baton Rouge is a foodie’s paradise. With excellent Cajun and Creole food, as well as ethnic and modern fusion eateries, there are dozens of delicious restaurants (both old and new) to explore and enjoy. Because of the cultural influences that shaped our city, the food has grown to be diverse and delicious in ways unlike anywhere else.

Traditional seafood fare is part of the culinary landscape in Louisiana’s capital city. Classics like Parrain’s Seafood and Mike Anderson’s Seafood are longtime staples, with newer restaurants SoLou and Elsie’s Plate & Pie that offer fresh takes on everyone’s favorite seafood classics.

But don’t worry, once you’ve had your fill of fresh seafood, there’s plenty more that’ll fill your plate. Born out of a food truck, Curbside Burgers serves up delicious craft burgers, tasty toys and majorly delicious milkshakes. Barracuda Taco Stand is another great spot to grab a quick bite. With delicious tacos, flavorful cocktails and classic Mexican restaurant dips, this outdoor venue has quickly become a local favorite for a reason.

Whatever flavors you are looking for, Baton Rouge’s food scene is sure to satisfy.
