Not too big a city, not too small a town, Greenville is “just right” for planners looking for a laid-back destination, according to Jonathan Brashier, vice president of meetings, conventions, and events for Visit Greenville SC. “Greenville offers simplicity, but with unexpected contrasts,” he says. “We have an accessible destination, 5,300-plus guest rooms—more than 11,000 countywide—and outstanding convention facilities. We also have several outstanding outdoor attractions, theaters, galleries, and boutiques, giving groups countless options to consider.”

Greenville Convention Center has approximately 280,000 square feet of exhibit space and 60,000 square feet of meeting space. The largest space, a 30,0000-square-foot ballroom, can seat up to 3,000 theater style or 1,700 banquet style. Bon Secours Wellness Arena seats a capacity of 15,500 people and has two party suites, which can accommodate up to 50 people each.

Embassy Suites by Hilton Greenville Golf Resort & Conference Center has 268 guest rooms and 44,000 square feet of event space, which can accommodate up to 1,500 people for banquets or seat 1,300 theater style in its largest space. The 327-room Hyatt Regency Greenville features 35,000 square feet of event space across 17 rooms. Hyatt Regency Greenville’s 14,381-square-foot Regency Ballroom, upstate South Carolina’s largest ballroom, accommodates 1,400 for receptions and 1,200 for seated dinners.

The 197-room AC Hotel Greenville recently opened the new Seratonic Venue & Lounge, bringing the hotel’s event space to 19,166 square feet; the hotel’s largest space can accommodate up to 400 people. The former Cambria Hotel is now DoubleTree by Hilton Greenville Woodruff Road, with 126 guest rooms and 1,456 square feet of event space.

Roam Greenville ONE, a dedicated meeting venue, offers onsite catering and 36,000 square feet of event space, including a 274-seat auditorium and four flexible meeting rooms, each seating 84 people theater style.

New dining options in Greenville include Ottaray Raw Bar & Taproom and Abyss Raw Bar—both available for private events. For comfort food, there’s the new Lefty’s West End Tavern, and, for Mediterranean delights, Greenville has welcomed two new eateries, The Black Sheep and Tahini. Another recent arrival, Wild Yarrow Brewing, uses local ingredients to create lagers, mixed fermentation, and barrel-aged beers. Wild Yarrow also features a full schedule of live music and other events.

The Village, considered Greenville’s commercial arts district, is a collection of more than 100 small businesses, restaurants, and art galleries, including Flatiron Studios, located in the historic circa-1928 Flatiron building. Heritage Green, Greenville’s “cultural corridor,” is home to Upcountry History Museum, Sigal Music Museum, Greenville Theatre, and Hughes Main Library.
