WASHINGTON, D.C.—American Hotel & Lodging Association (AHLA) has selected Rosanna Maietta to serve as the association’s next president and CEO, effective November 14.
Maietta previously served as president and CEO of the AHLA Foundation and executive vice president of communications and public relations of AHLA.
“I am excited to be returning to AHLA and reconnecting with the brilliant team and colleagues I had the privilege of working with,” Maietta says. “This organization and industry hold a special place in my heart, and I am eager for the opportunity to lead it into a new chapter of growth and engagement. Working alongside the officers and board, I am confident that together we will build on our past successes and accelerate this thriving industry on behalf of our members.”
In other AHLA news, the charitable arm of AHLA, the AHLA Foundation, awarded approximately $944,000 to 369 students who will be attending 88 different colleges and universities in the United States in 2025. AHLA Foundation awards two types of scholarships: self-nominated, in which students apply directly to compete for one of eight scholarships regardless of where they attend school; and school-nominated, which requires a student attend one of the 67 schools affiliated with the foundation.
Since its creation in 1953, AHLA Foundation has disbursed more than $16 million in academic scholarships.
“Scholarships are an integral part of the Foundation’s commitment to elevating, educating, and empowering individuals as they pursue careers in the hotel industry,” says Anna Blue, president of AHLA Foundation. “These scholarships make it possible for the next generation of leaders to find their place in hospitality.”
