ALPHARETTA, Ga.—The Alpharetta Convention & Visitors Bureau has hired Melissa Holder as its new director of public relations and communications.
Holder, who brings more than 20 years of experience in communications, marketing, and media relations, will lead efforts to promote Alpharetta as a destination and manage the bureau’s external messaging. Her role includes overseeing media strategy, working with national and regional journalists and influencers, and directing content creation across platforms.
“Melissa’s background and enthusiasm fit perfectly with the team,” says Janet Rodgers, president and CEO of Alpharetta CVB. “Her experience will be invaluable as we continue to elevate Alpharetta’s profile regionally and nationally. We are confident she will play a key role in highlighting the exceptional quality of life our city offers as a premier destination.”
A north Fulton County native and graduate of Roswell High School, Holder earned a journalism degree with a sociology minor from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign.
Her previous roles span government, nonprofit organizations, and marketing agencies.
“I am thrilled to again have the opportunity to represent one of the premier cities in Georgia and the country,” Holder says. “The growth in Alpharetta has been exceptional. Our community is fortunate to have hundreds of exciting restaurants, retail locations, hotels, and attractions for incoming visitors and residents.”
