ST. CHARLES, Mo.– Ameristar Casino Resort Spa St. Charles announced plans to triple the size of its meeting and convention center. This project will make it one of the largest convention centers in the St. Louis metro area.
The planned expansion is the latest step in Ameristar’s ongoing efforts to offer guests a fresh and updated experience through a comprehensive property-wide renovation. The expansion project will add 43,000 square feet of state-of-the-art event space and an enhanced pre-function area to Ameristar’s existing convention center. Once complete in the fall of 2025, Ameristar will be home to the largest hotel convention center in St. Charles County, with 65,000 square feet of event and meeting space.
In addition to the convention center expansion, work is underway on a complete refresh and upgrade of the property’s 397 hotel rooms as it reinvests in its AAA Four Diamond hotel experience. Work on the hotel renovations is set for completion later this year.
The ongoing property-wide renovation program goes well beyond Ameristar’s hotel and convention facilities. Over the last two years, Ameristar has debuted several new amenities, including Copper Whisk, an upscale café and bakery; the first Roll In & Out Store in the St. Louis area; and Salted Lime, offering authentic south of the border dining experiences. Additionally, Ameristar St. Charles plans to unveil an upgraded VIP lounge experience in the coming weeks.
“We have been proud to serve the St. Charles and greater St. Louis communities for 30 years now, and we want to make sure that we continue to offer our guests a best-in-class experience. Through these investments, our goal is to ensure that Ameristar remains a unique and appealing destination for existing and new guests alike and continues to draw more visitors to the St. Charles community,” says Ward Shaw, executive vice president of operations for Boyd Gaming.
Ameristar is also finalizing plans for its next set of future amenities. These will include the replacement of Amerisports Bar & Grill with a modern gastropub and sports bar experience in mid-2025 and a complete rebrand and refresh of Ameristar’s existing steakhouse concept, late next year.
