Arlo Washington DC becomes hotel brand’s first LEED-Certified property

WASHINGTON, D.C.Arlo Hotels’ seventh location, Arlo Washington DC, has achieved LEED Silver Certification from the U.S. Green Building Council. This award recognizes the hotel’s dedication to sustainable development, environmental care, and efficient operations.

The hotel’s sustainability efforts include a 6,000-square-foot green roof with a 12,000-gallon cistern, which captures rainwater that is treated and reused on site, resulting in more than a 25-percent reduction in energy costs. The property’s landscaping and irrigation system reduces potable water use by 57 percent through іts native plant selection and drip‍ irrigation system. The kitchens are equipped with Energy Star-certified appliances, minimizing the excessive use of water and energy consumption, lowering the building’s overall environmental footprint.

“As the first Arlo Hotels property to earn LEED certification, it is an honor to receive this recognition, as it reflects the company’s deep commitment to sustainability and responsible development,” says Amir Setayesh, managing director of global real estate and development firm Quadrum Global. “From the start, we cоllaborated with city officials and conservation organizations to bring our vision for Arlо Washington DC to life. Our goal was to create a space that welcomes locals and travelers while respecting and contributing to the well-being of the environmental and historic fabric of the city.”

The hotel’s convenient location makes it easy for guests to explore the city on foot. With a walkability score of 91, it’s within walking distance of Penn Quarter, Judiciary Square, Capitol Hill, and the Walter E. Washington Convention Center, as well as public transportation options.
