BIRMINGHAM, Ala.—Birmingham Jefferson Convention Complex has announced the start of the renovation of the Sheraton Birmingham hotel lobby and its public spaces. The facelift is part of a series of investments in the hotels owned by BJCC, which will include community areas and guest rooms. The design will celebrate Birmingham’s steel heritage with rich colors and textures while incorporating elements of Southern hospitality and tailored sophistication.
“We want our guests and customers to experience the very best when they visit all of our facilities,” says Tad Snider, CEO of BJCC. “The renovations at the Sheraton are just another way of continuing to elevate the experience for those who stay in the Sheraton and utilize its public spaces.”
As part of the renovation, the entire lower lobby is being renovated, with the space being optimized for public use. In addition to a more opening and welcoming new look, the lobby will include new elements, like a café bar, community tables, and studios.
“We want to not only make a great first impression on people arriving to the Sheraton, but also to offer the kind of amenities that allow them to make the most of their time here,” Snider adds. “We are continuing to invest to make the entire BJCC campus the best it can be.”
The renovations will cost $5 million and will be completed by December 2024.
