In Brownwood, visitors can bite into a burger served in a restored train car, sample award-winning Texas-made wines and beers, experience legendary barbecue, and take a kayak trip on the bayou. The new Brownwood Event Center Complex, renovated from a historic 1920s warehouse, is now a multipurpose facility featuring a 7,000-square-foot main hall, five breakout rooms, an upstairs lounge, two outdoor concert stages, a covered pavilion, festival grounds, and green space. Additional venues include Adams Street Community Center, with an auditorium seating 200 theater style; Depot Civic & Cultural Center, with a ballroom seating 185 theater style or 140 banquet style; Brownwood Country Club, which can seat 150 banquet style; and Howard Payne University, with a 4,000-seat auditorium, classrooms, and other gathering spaces.
The 1,400-acre Hideout Golf Club & Resort, adjacent to Lake Brownwood State Park, has resort lodging, cabins, and ranch homes, as well as indoor and outdoor event spaces.
