The $3 billion renovation of Kay Bailey Hutchison Convention Center Dallas continues, with a projected completion date of 2029. “The new center will drastically improve Dallas’ urban landscape, offering 750,000 square feet of exhibit space, 181,000 square feet of meeting space, a 105,000-square-foot ballroom, and a (walkable) entertainment district,” says D. Bradley Kent, senior vice president/chief sales officer for Dallas CVB.

The facility currently boasts one million square feet of exhibit space, three ballrooms, 88 meeting rooms, a 9,816-seat arena, and a 1,750-seat theater. “The plan prioritizes connectivity and aims to bridge downtown Dallas with nearby neighborhoods through improved pedestrian and bicycle infrastructure,” Kent adds.

Dallas has more than 35,500 hotel rooms across various hotel properties, including the 1,841-room Sheraton Dallas, which features 231,311 square feet of event space and can accommodate up to 5,000 people; 1,606-room Hotel Anatole, which features 600,000 square feet of meeting space; 1,001-room Omni Dallas, which offers 110,000 square feet; and 545-room Fairmont Dallas, with more than 70,000 square feet of event space. New hotels include the 267-room JW Marriott Dallas and the 134-room Hôtel Swexan.

Group activities range from mechanical wave riding at GoodSurf Beach Club to exploring the Margarita Mile and Dallas Museum of Illusions.
