SAN ANTONIO, Texas—Grand Hyatt San Antonio River Walk and Hyatt Regency San Antonio Riverwalk announced Michael Balyeat as director of sales and marketing. Balyeat previously worked with the downtown San Antonio hotels, from 2012 to 2014. In his return, he will oversee all sales and marketing programs for the properties and implement strategies to increase brand awareness.
“We are thrilled to welcome Michael back to the beautiful San Antonio area and to our hotel team,” said Phillip Stamm, area vice president and general manager for Hyatt Regency San Antonio Riverwalk and Grand Hyatt San Antonio River Walk. “Michael’s wealth of experience paired with his extensive background working with prominent Hyatt properties throughout the country make him an invaluable asset to our team. We look forward to seeing his visions for both hotels come to life in the heart of our beautiful River Walk settings.”
Balyeat began his career with Hyatt in 2007 as a corporate management trainee at Grand Hyatt Seattle. He was quickly promoted to sales manager of both Grand Hyatt Seattle and Hyatt at Olive 8. Following his time in Seattle, Balyeat moved to San Antonio, where he was associate director of sales for Grand Hyatt San Antonio River Walk and Hyatt Regency San Antonio Riverwalk. He was promoted to director of sales, events and marketing at Hyatt Regency Cleveland at The Arcade, later moving to Hyatt Regency Columbus.
“I am excited to return to San Antonio to lead the sales and marketing programs at our incredible downtown hotels,” Balyeat said. “Having lived and worked in San Antonio for several years in the past, I look forward to enjoying the incredible entertainment, cuisine, and vibrant culture of the city and to driving further awareness of the premier travel experiences available at both hotels.”
