ATLANTA—The City of Fairburn has officially joined the ATL Airport District Convention & Visitors Bureau (CVB), becoming the fourth city to partner with the regional destination marketing organization. Fairburn joins College Park, Hapeville, and Union City as part of the growing effort to promote Atlanta’s Southside as a premier hub for tourism, events, and economic development.
The Fairburn City Council unanimously approved the partnership, following a series of presentations from the CVB’s leadership team.
“We are thrilled to announce our exciting new partnership with the City of Fairburn,” says Mercedes Miller, president of the ATL Airport District CVB. “Fairburn brings so much to the table, from its rich cultural events and attractions to its premier sports facilities and everything in between. We are proud to welcome their team into the ATL Airport District family and look forward to achieving incredible things together!”
Fairburn, known for hosting the annual Georgia Renaissance Festival, is gaining attention for its revitalized downtown, signature community events, and growing hospitality sector. Events, such as the Third Friday Concert Series and Fall Festival & Parade, have helped the city emerge as a top destination in south Fulton County for family entertainment and cultural experiences.
With the new partnership, the CVB will expand its marketing reach to include Fairburn’s attractions, events, and growing hotel and sports infrastructure, particularly the facilities at Duncan Park, which hosts regional tournaments in soccer, baseball, and football.
“Joining the ATL Airport District represents a new era for Fairburn,” says Mayor Mario B. Avery. “Our city is growing, innovating, and thriving—from new developments and family-friendly entertainment to our expanding business community. This partnership gives us the platform to showcase that progress to a wider audience while strengthening our connection to the region’s tourism network.”
The partnership highlights a shared commitment to regional collaboration and economic development. By uniting under the ATL Airport District CVB banner, the participating cities aim to boost tourism, support local businesses, and enhance visibility for south Fulton County as a whole.
