For outdoor enthusiasts, Greater Gadsden offers an immersion in the breathtaking beauty of nature, says Tina Morrison, executive director of Greater Gadsden Area Tourism. “At Noccalula Falls Park, there’s a 90-foot waterfall, mountain biking or hiking trails, mini golf, an animal exhibit, and miniature trains. The park is the site of many events throughout the year that planners might take advantage of, including Art on the Rocks in May and in September, and Christmas at the Falls, which brings 80,000 folks to the park each December.”
The Venue at Coosa Landing is Gadsden’s premier event venue, Morrison notes. “The City of Gadsden’s newest event space can host concerts, conventions, board meetings, and celebrations with 75,000 square feet of space to seat 200 people for meetings or 1,200 theater style in the main hall. The multi-use space is central to all areas of the city and has access to Gadsden’s Riverwalk City Park.”
Teambuilding options in the area include GadRock, an indoor rock-climbing facility, laser tag at The Factory, and animal encounters at Tigers for Tomorrow, a wild-animal preserve and rescue facility.
Event spaces include 210 at the Tracks, with a multipurpose room accommodating 1,000; Back Forty Beer Company, a microbrewery with a full restaurant and indoor and outdoor event spaces; Maraella Vineyards and Winery, with tastings and a variety of event spaces; the 1,000-seat Pitman Theater; and the 7,500-square-foot Downtown Civic Center. There are 1,132 hotel rooms in the Greater Gadsden area.
