
AUSTIN, Texas – The Texas Office of Economic Development and Tourism is accepting applications for $180 million in grants to aid businesses in the state’s hospitality, tourism, and travel industry. The application period opened July 6, 2022.
The Texas Travel Industry Recovery Grant Program is designed to assist businesses that experienced economic loss due to the pandemic. The money is part of the Coronavirus State Fiscal Recovery Fund under the American Rescue Plan Act of 2021.
The program aims to encourage further recovery of the state’s travel and tourism industry and improve safety, customer service, and hospitality. Through the program, one-time payments capped at $20,000 will be made to eligible Texas businesses in the following industries: arts, entertainment, and recreation; traveler accommodations and meetings; and food services and drinking places.
