According to John Solis, senior vice president of convention growth and development for Visit Houston, the city is a dynamic destination for meetings and events. “When meeting and event planners select Houston as their destination, they return because they get the warmth, welcoming, and willingness of the team to do whatever it takes to make each meeting an extraordinary experience,” he says.

George R. Brown Convention Center features more than one million square feet of space and connects to Hilton Americas-Houston and the Marriott Marquis, which together offer more than 2,200 guest rooms.

Other hotel options include Thompson Houston by Hyatt, which can accommodate up to 500 people in its largest space. The 250-room Post Oak Hotel at Uptown Houston features a 16,000-square-foot ballroom with a capacity of 1,685 for receptions.

New event venues include the eclectic 20,000-square-foot Warehouse at Turkey Bend on Buffalo Bayou.

Houston’s two international airports, George Bush Intercontinental Airport (IAH) and William P. Hobby Airport (HOU), have undergone major renovations. A new express shuttle service links IAH directly to the Convention District, enhancing accessibility for delegates.
