RESTON, Va.—JW Marriott has opened its first property in Virginia, introducing a new standard of luxury hospitality to northern Virginia with the debut of JW Marriott Reston Station. The 247-room hotel is located in the heart of Reston Station, a major mixed-use, transit-oriented development just outside Washington, D.C.
Developed in partnership with Comstock Holding Companies, Inc., the hotel marks a significant milestone for both the JW Marriott brand and the Reston community. It features floor-to-ceiling views, a fitness center, and the launch of JW Marriott’s new “Mindful Rooms” concept, designed for travelers seeking a personalized and wellness-centered stay.
“The opening of JW Marriott Reston Station is particularly meaningful for the brand, given its proximity to JW Marriott’s roots in Washington, D.C.,” says Bruce Rohr, vice president and global brand leader for JW Marriott. “This hotel reflects the evolution of JW Marriott—where timeless luxury meets world-class hospitality. With the debut of our new ‘Mindful Rooms’ concept and a continued focus on well-being, we are proud to continue JW Marriott’s legacy in northern Virginia by offering guests an exceptional experience rooted in the brand’s rich heritage.”
The hotel includes 14 Mindful Rooms, which feature calming design elements, circadian lighting, yoga and recovery tools, and customizable wellness services, including curated turndown and tea experiences. Guests receive a wellness consultation upon arrival to tailor their stay.
The hotel features three dining venues, including The Simon, a modern Mid-Atlantic restaurant with French and Mediterranean influences; Schar Bar, a high-end cocktail lounge; and JW Market, a European-style café featuring fresh pastries, local specialties, and artisan sandwiches.
Art and architecture are central to the hotel’s design, including a striking public art installation by Italian artist Lorenzo Quinn titled Building Bridges. The installation features six pairs of interlocking hands symbolizing unity and connection.
The hotel also boasts more than 40,000 square feet of meeting and event space, including an 11,700-square-foot ballroom with 20-foot ceilings and multiple breakout rooms—making it the largest luxury event venue in the region—with capacity for up to 1,300 guests.
Located steps from the Silver Line Metro, the hotel offers convenient access to Dulles International Airport (IAD), Tysons Corner, and downtown Washington, D.C.
