Kentucky Venues has announced a critical step has been made toward envisioning the future of the Kentucky Exposition Center. After careful review and consideration, Schmidt Associates has been selected as the architect for the $180 million first-phase property improvements.

The improvements could include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Exhibition Hall 3 (new)
  • North Wing/East Hall (expansion/renovation)
  • Kitchen
  • Enabling Infrastructure & Demolition

The project is in the early stages of the pre-design and scope development phase, which is expected to take 120 days. The remainder of the schedule will be decided during that time.

The Kentucky Exposition Center hosts 200-plus events representing more than 1 million visitors in its 1.2 million-square-foot facility every year. Signature events include the Kentucky State Fair, World’s Championship Horse Show, National Farm Machinery Show, Championship Tractor Pull, North American International Livestock Exposition, and North American Championship Rodeo
