Located on the U.S.-Mexico border, Laredo offers planners the energy and diversity of two nations and two cultures, all in one vibrant city, according to Sofia Soto, sales account coordinator for Visit Laredo. “Meeting planners love Laredo’s authentic cultural experience, where attendees can enjoy traditional Mexican heritage alongside modern American amenities.”

The 178,000-square-foot Sames Auto Arena has a maximum seating capacity of 10,000 for concerts. The venue also has six meeting rooms and 32,000 square feet of column-free floor space, making it south Texas’ largest indoor convention space. The facility is undergoing a multi-phase renovation, with an estimated completion date of 2030.

Laredo’s historic Four Diamond La Posada Hotel features 206 guest rooms and 15,000 square feet of event space. Off Interstate 35, the new DoubleTree by Hilton Laredo has 199 guest rooms and 6,880 square feet of event space, while the 154-room Embassy Suites by Hilton Laredo has 5,796 square feet of event space.

Laredo offers a diverse range of recreational activities, including kayaking on Lake Casa Blanca and golfing and bird-watching along the Rio Grande. Groups can take tours of the historic downtown and enjoy Spanish architecture, charming plazas, and such landmarks as San Agustín Cathedral.
