BRYAN, Texas – A historic hotel dating to the 1920s is getting a makeover in Bryan, Texas.
The LaSalle Hotel, which was purchased by New Castle Hotels & Resorts last year, will soon transition to the Marriott Tribute Portfolio brand.
As reported by local television station KBTX, the hotel’s owner, Jeremy Buffam, says the property will be getting a total renovation of its interior and exterior.
According to Buffam, the hotel’s guest rooms, bathrooms, lobby, and furniture will be upgraded. There will also be investments into mechanical—such as the hot water system—and kitchen equipment.
The historical character of the LaSalle Hotel will remain after the renovations, Buffam adds.
“We do intend to retain as much history as possible, including the building façade and the appearance as you arrive at the hotel,” he told KBTX.
Construction on the project is expected to take four to five months, the article states.
A unique aspect of the renovations is the LaSalle Hotel is teaming with Habitat for Humanity. As construction crews go from floor to floor, pieces of furniture will be donated to the charitable organization.
The hotel features event space for weddings and business meetings, onsite catering, an outdoor courtyard, and restaurants and bars. It is listed on the National Register of Historic Places.
