HILTON HEAD ISLAND, S.C  – Marriott Hilton Head Resort & Spa has completed a second phase of renovations, including the transformation of guest rooms and suites, following the recent updates of the resort’s public spaces, dining outlets, and function space.

Over the years, the resort has hosted Presidents George W. Bush, George H. W. Bush, and Bill Clinton, and several films were shot nearby including Forrest Gump, The Big Chill, and The Legend of Bagger Vance.

The resort’s 513 guest rooms and suites, including the Presidential Suite and four Vice Presidential suites, have been renovated to reflect a new design philosophy using earthy tones with sea glass and grey, coupled with new entryway tile, vanities, tiled-in showers, carpet, room paint, and mural headboards. Each guestroom features ocean or island views, with large-format windows to allow guests to enjoy the surrounding landscape.

Additionally, each guest room features wall and lamp outlets outfitted with USB ports for multiple electronic devices; high-quality bedding with cotton-rich linens and fluffy pillows; high-speed Wi-Fi and a large desk with a well-lit workspace, comfortable chair, and plug-in panels; 50-in. flat-panel TVs with the Marriott Entertainment Package, including premium cable and movie channels; an in-room coffee bar; and strategically placed mirrors, including back-lit vanity mirror and full-length mirrors.

Owned and managed by Columbia Sussex, the Marriott Hilton Head Resort & Spa is located in the exclusive residential community of Palmetto Dunes, which Condé Nast named one of the top resorts in the South in its Traveler Readers’ Choice Awards for the past three years. The resort’s top amenities include three miles of pristine beach, three PGA golf courses, and 2,000 acres of natural beauty and outdoor activities.

Palmetto Dunes is a top spot for Hilton Head bike rentals and water sports, along with a full-service marina, award-winning tennis and pickleball center, and an 11-mile lagoon system for kayaking or fishing.

The resort’s entry and porte-cochere feature a newly resurfaced driveway entrance; herringbone pedestrian and vehicle pavers; and the porte-cochere completely rewired with new sleek LED architectural accent lighting. New light sconces were added underneath and around the main entrance.

The entire exterior of all buildings has been freshly painted using a coating technology conducive to withstand the salt air environment.
