McAllen Convention Center features 174,000 square feet of multifunctional space, including a 60,000-square-foot exhibition hall. The adjacent 1,800-seat Performing Arts Center is ideal for large sessions. The surrounding convention center district offers an array of accommodations, dining, entertainment,
and shopping.
Embassy Suites by Hilton McAllen Convention Center has 150 guest rooms and 10,440 square feet of event space, accommodating up to 800 people in theater-style seating. The 121-room Cambria Hotel McAllen Convention Center can accommodate up to 235 people. Event space is available for smaller groups at the 144-room Aloft Hotel McAllen, which opened in 2024 on the convention center campus, as well as at Trademark Collection by Wyndham, Casa De Palmas, Wyndham Garden McAllen at La Plaza Mall, and DoubleTree Suites by Hilton Hotel McAllen.
Later this year, Verta Hotel will become a 150-room Delta by Marriott – McAllen Airport at Quinta Mazatlan.
According to Leigh Wooldridge, vice president of Visit McAllen, many attendees at meetings and conferences in McAllen bring their families. “The city blends convenience with unique family-friendly experiences,” she says. “With the International Museum of Art & Science and other attractions, children stay entertained while parents attend sessions.”
Local attractions include Quinta Mazatlán, which features gardens, bird watching, and event space for up to 350 in its largest space. Other attractions include McAllen Nature Center and the new Camp McAllen, which offers hiking, fishing, and kayaking.
