MIAMI BEACH, Fla.—Civic leaders, developers, and hospitality executives officially broke ground on Grand Hyatt Miami Beach, an 800-room hotel that will directly connect to the Miami Beach Convention Center (MBCC). The hotel is expected to open in late 2027.

Grand Hyatt Miami Beach is being developed by Terra and Turnberry, operating under the Hyatt Hotels Corp. flag. It’s strategically located at 17th Street and Convention Center Drive, just two blocks from the Atlantic Ocean. Designed by architect Bernardo Fort-Brescia of Arquitectonica, the 17-story hotel will include 800 guest rooms, including 52 luxury suites with views of Miami Beach, four floors of dedicated meeting and ballroom space to complement the MBCC, and a climate-controlled skybridge connecting guests directly to the convention center. Amenities will include a rooftop resort-style pool deck, signature restaurant, bar, and retail, as well as access to pedestrian promenades, bike-sharing stations, and improved transit.

The hotel will offer guests direct access to Lincoln Road’s shopping, dining, and arts scene. It is surrounded by premier cultural and lifestyle assets, including The Bass Museum, Miami City Ballet, SoundScape Park, and the New World Symphony, offering attendees a blend of business and leisure.

“Grand Hyatt Miami Beach is a major investment in our city’s future—bringing jobs, quality year-round tourism, and long-term economic growth,” says Miami Beach Mayor Steven Meiner. “Miami Beach remains a sought-after destination for its beauty and growing reputation as a safe, strong, and sophisticated city. This groundbreaking is further evidence that investor confidence in Miami Beach has never been higher.”
