Just 30 minutes along the interstate from Midland, Odessa combines history, culture, and warm hospitality. “We’re known as the home of Friday Night Lights, and Odessa shines with community pride and energy, especially during high school football season,” says Ashley Flores, marketing and communications specialist for Discover Odessa. “We offer modern accommodations and venues, and we serve as the perfect gateway to outdoor adventures, with Big Bend National Park, Monahans Sandhills, two state parks, and the Balmorhea and Davis mountains all within easy reach.”
Larger event spaces include the 227-room Odessa Marriott Hotel & Convention Center, which features 33,374 square feet of function space and can accommodate 2,000 guests theatre style; and 245-room MCM Grandé Hotel, with 19,000 square feet of event space and a capacity of 1,800 people. The 192-room MCM Eleganté can accommodate up to 400 event guests. Odessa offers 4,728 guest rooms throughout the city.
Groups visiting Odessa in January can take advantage of one of the city’s longtime traditions. “The Sandhills Stock Show & Rodeo, held every January, is a west Texas tradition, perfect for groups wanting a true rodeo experience,” Flores says.
