FOLEY, Ala. – Things are set to get a bit more “tropical” in the OWA entertainment district near Foley, Ala.
As reported by AL.com, a new $50 million tropical-themed resort hotel is in the planning stages. The resort is expected to open in May 2025, according to the article.
OWA Parks & Resort, which is owned and operated by the Poarch Band of Creek Indians, is a 520-acre destination featuring Tropic Falls, with 23 rides, the area’s largest indoor water park, and Big Water Bay outdoor wave pool; Downtown OWA, a pedestrian-only district with dining, shopping, and entertainment; and TownePlace Suites by Marriott.
“We are very excited to add this tropical-inspired resort hotel to our portfolio,” says Cody Williamson, president/CEO of Creek Indian Enterprises Development Authority. “This new hotel will give guests another option to relax in Coastal Alabama, while still enjoying all the fun amenities that OWA has to offer. We continue to focus on these types of investment projects, which enable us to remain a strong economic partner for the local tourism industry and the State of Alabama.”
AL.com reports the resort will have tropical-themed rooms as well as an outdoor pool with bar and grill, a 24-hour fitness center, a longue, a convenience store, an arcade, and several meeting spaces.
