FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. – Offering nearly 35,000 square feet of event space, W Fort Lauderdale has recently unveiled its new Sensory Reset experience.
The new wellness program transforms an ordinary meeting room into a setup with various activities to stimulate the senses and serve as a “mental reset” for groups and meeting goers.
“This room is designed to foster a renewed sense of energy for attendees, who can go into the room between or after meetings to disengage, relax, and enjoy tools to reset the senses. The set-up features stations dedicated to each of the five senses: smell, taste, touch, sight, and sound,” a media release states.
The Sensory Reset room is outfitted with the following activations:
– Sight & Sound – A screen playing various autonomous sensory meridian response (ASMR) videos, which some experts say slow heart rate and lead viewers toward an overall state of relaxation
– Taste – A sampling of light bites, such as frozen grapes, mints, or fresh veggies
– Touch – A station with a variety of tactile items, such as fidget spinners, stress balls, and putty
– Smell – An aromatherapy oil diffuser, along with a station featuring a selection of oils with cards describing the scents and directions for how to best enjoy them (rub into hands, waft to inhale, etc.)
Attendees can flow through the room at their leisure, choosing to stay at whichever station feels best for them.
According to the media release, “The hotel created the concept to offer attendees wellness moments that go beyond the traditional spa and gym, and instead focus on nurturing mental health.”
Use of the Sensory Reset room is complimentary for groups spending $20,000 or more.
