DALLAS, Tex. – After being closed since March due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the Kay Bailey Hutchison Convention Center has recently welcomed live events back.
The event was designed to test the safety protocols outlined in the STAR accreditation the facility received from the Global Biorisk Advisory Council (GBAC) earlier this year.
The convention center hosted the Mecum Auto Auction from October 15 to 17 with an expected 2,000 attendees over the three days.
An event called The Together Again Expo was originally scheduled for October 23; however, officials from the Kay Baily Hutchison Convention Center, along with Alliance Nationwide Exposition and the Texas Live Events Coalition, announced it was delayed until January 2021.
The decision was made due to the struggles faced by many of the scheduled vendors.
