BONITA SPRINGS, Fla. – Hyatt Regency Coconut Point Resort & Spa has announced key appointments and promotions to its leadership team.  The resort has hired John Savchuck as director of rooms and Andreas Singer has been promoted to director of food and beverage and culinary operations.

“We are thrilled to welcome John Savchuck, and to announce the promotion of Andreas Singer, as they continue their impressive careers here at Hyatt Regency Coconut Point Resort & Spa,” says Brian Kramer, general manager. “Both Andreas and John are incredible assets to our team, and we are excited to see their vision for our property come to life in their new positions.”

Singer has been promoted from his previous position as executive chef at the hotel.  In his new role, he will be responsible for overseeing all the food operations, from banquets to restaurant outlets.

Originally from a small village near the Austrian, Slovakian, and Hungarian border, Singer began his career 43 years ago with an apprenticeship where he learned from several chefs from around the world. He began working with Hyatt in 1994 as a sous chef at Hyatt Regency Grand Cayman where he was recognized as Manager of the Year and was part of Hyatt Corporation’s Culinary Team of the Year. He then transferred to Hyatt Regency Dearborn in Michigan, followed by a move to Hyatt Regency Albuquerque where he held his first position as executive chef. After his time in Albuquerque, he served as executive chef at Hyatt Regency Crystal City in Virginia and then moved to his current location. In his new role, Singer will help debut Hyatt Regency Coconut Point’s renovated Tarpon Bay Restaurant and updated Pool Bar and Grille operations.

Savchuck joins from Hyatt Regency Chesapeake Bay Golf Resort, Spa and Marina in Cambridge, Md., where he served as director of operations. In his new position, Savchuck will be responsible for overseeing guest services, housekeeping, spa, security, and the recreation teams at the hotel. With nearly 16 years of experience working with Hyatt Hotels Corporation, Savchuck has held leadership and management positions at Hyatt Hotel properties throughout the East Coast.

Originally from Delaware County, Pa., Savchuck began his hospitality career at a local Italian restaurant where he worked throughout high school. He had the opportunity to visit the southern coast of Spain during this time which opened the door for him to the possibilities that different cultures and food had to offer. He graduated from Johnson and Wales University with a bachelor’s degree in food service and an associate degree in culinary arts. Throughout his career, Savchuck has been recognized as Manager of the Year twice. He also played a key role in reducing the carbon footprint and use of single-use plastics at Hyatt Regency Chesapeake Bay and Hyatt Regency Coconut Point, as well as assisting in Hyatt Regency Chesapeake Bay’s “Change Starts Here” initiative.
