WACO, Texas – A unique hotel made of metal shipping containers will soon be opening in Waco, Texas.
As reported to local television station, KCEN TV, the Hotel Herringbone, a boutique hotel under construction, is scheduled to open in February 2024.
According to the article, the hotel was originally a shipping container development that went out of business. It will be made of 100 40-foot-by-8-foot shipping containers.
In addition to 21 rooms and a ballroom, the building will feature nine retail locations and an “open-flame” Argentinian grill-style raw bar. The rooftop ballroom will be known as Lucky Star.
Luckyfind Hospitality CEO Rigel Bitterman, one of the developers of the property, says the hotel will feature both “activated”’ event space and traditional meeting space.
Bitterman says visitors to the hotel will not “feel like they are in a shipping container” and that the rooms will be some of the biggest in Waco based on square footage.
The article states the new hotel will create about 100 part-time and full-time positions.
