TAMPA BAY, Fla. – Visit Tampa Bay has announced the promotion of Adam DePiro to chief sales officer.
A veteran sales and hospitality professional, DePiro has been instrumental in shaping the strategic direction, policies, and goals of the convention and meeting team, including a record-setting performance in 2023.
During his 11-year tenure with Visit Tampa Bay, he has successfully forged relationships with meeting professionals, industry partners, and vendors.
“Adam’s ability to analyze and interpret critical data is one of the many reasons he’s a valuable resource for not only our hotel and venue partners but with investors considering product development in our destination,” says Santiago C. Corrada, president and CEO of Visit Tampa Bay. “His focused mindset and keen insights will propel Tampa’s vibrant meetings business to even greater heights.”
Coming off Visit Tampa Bay’s most successful summer of conventions to date and the DMO’s best fiscal year ever, with $1.1 billion in taxable revenue, DiPero was part of the team that launched the $1 million campaign targeting meeting professionals and associations across the U.S. He has also developed relationships with professional organizations like ASAE (American Society of Association Executives), PCMA (Professional Convention Management Association), and MPI (Meeting Professionals International).
“I’m so grateful to be a part of this incredible team at Visit Tampa Bay, collaborating with incredible partners, and the countless event professionals bringing their events to the destination,” says DePiro. “Conventions and meetings are vital to our community and have played a significant role in Tampa’s transformational growth. We will continue creating exceptional events and inspire the world to love Tampa Bay for years to come.”
Before joining Visit Tampa Bay, DePiro served as the director of sales and marketing for the DoubleTree by Hilton Tampa Airport – Westshore and regional vice president of sales for Hyatt Select Hotels Group.
In early 2024, with an additional $1.5 million investment, Visit Tampa Bay will ramp up its meetings messaging by launching a new campaign targeting transient business travelers and small groups.
