The first meeting resort property to reopen on Islamorada following Hurricane Irma’s visit last September, Amara Cay has been up and running since Dec. 15 and offers a gorgeous spot for small meetings, special events, corporate retreats and incentive travel. A private beach, event lawn, meeting room and various other areas are used for functions.
General Manager Miguel Waldo also pointed out a number of family-friendly aspects, including lawn games, kayaks and stand-up paddleboards. A tiki hut bar and Reelburgers restaurant offer excellent burgers and other gourmet dishes. The sliders are highly recommended and don’t forget to ask Tim, the bartender, for his secret-recipe Mai-Tai!
