The Carolina Hotel, a Four Diamond property, has 230 guest rooms, a flexible 9,600-square-foot grand ballroom that can accommodate up to 1,000 guests for theater seating, and a 14,000-square-foot space accommodating up to 700 guests for receptions. In 2024, The Carolina Hotel finished the final phase of a three-part renovation of its guest rooms and common areas. It also opened a new dining experience, Carolina Vista Lounge.
Pinehurst Resort recently unveiled the new Cottages at Pinehurst No. 8. The resort’s first “on-course” accommodations, the new multi-level cottages include a recreation room with a pool table and spacious decks and porches outside overlooking parts of No. 8’s four holes. Other amenities include communal firepits, a pavilion, and a putting green.
Planners should note that Pinehurst will be an “anchor site” for several future U.S. Open Golf Championship tournaments, the soonest of which will take place at Pinehurst No. 2, June 14-17, 2029.
For local brews and spirits, groups may check out Brad Halling American Whiskey Ko. (BHAWK), which opened in Southern Pines in 2024. Moore County’s newest brewery, the Buggy Factory, which occupies part of a 19th-century buggy factory in Carthage, features a taproom, restaurant, speakeasy, and an outdoor performance venue.
