Recognized as Texas’ oldest town and home to Stephen F. Austin State University (SFASU), Nacogdoches offers historic charm and modern venues set against a wooded east Texas landscape. “Around just about every corner in Nacogdoches, there is something for planners to love,” says Lauryn Pennington, group sales and services coordinator for Visit Nacogdoches.
Nacogdoches County Exposition & Civic Center has more than 19,000 square feet of exhibit space and a large arena; its largest space can seat up to 1,000 guests. SFASU’s Baker Pattillo Student Center has more than 11,000 square feet of meeting space, with a seating capacity of 900 people theater style in its largest space.
The historic Fredonia Hotel & Convention Center downtown includes a 10,000-square-foot convention center. A Super 8 motel became a new 60-room Spark by Hilton property, and a new 90-room Holiday Inn Express Southwest opened late last year.
Downtown Nacogdoches has historic brick streets, local boutiques, and a vibrant culinary and beverage scene. Fredonia Brewery offers craft beers, includes a fully equipped pizza kitchen, provides access to local food trucks, and features live music, brewery tours, and other amenities for groups to enjoy.
