Moss-draped oaks, palmetto trees, and historic architecture make up the backdrop in the Beaufort, Port Royal & Sea Islands region of South Carolina’s Low Country. “No big city traffic here; just beautiful places, unique venues, and so many opportunities to breathe, relax, and enjoy,” says Linda Jeffries, director of sales for Greater Beaufort-Port Royal CVB.
The recently refreshed Beaufort Inn has 48 guest rooms and event space, including a 5,000-square-foot garden, rooftop venue, and separate 10,000-square-foot venue, Tabby Place, which can accommodate up to 300 guests. Also recently updated, the 97-room Holiday Inn & Suites Beaufort can host up to 300 people in its largest event space. The adjacent SpringHill Suites by Marriott Beaufort has a small meeting room to host up to 40 people.
The 115-room Beaufort Hilton Garden Inn accommodates up to 100 people theater style. Additional guest rooms and event space are available at the 43-room Best Western Sea Island Inn, which can accommodate up to 125 people, and the 76-room Hampton Inn Beaufort.
The Penn Center conference center on St. Helena Island has limited overnight accommodations and event space for up to 150 people. Fripp Island Golf & Beach Resort, approximately 12 minutes from downtown Beaufort, has 150 guest accommodations, two top-ranked golf courses, a marina, and 10,150 square feet of event space, which can accommodate 300 people in its largest space.
