Construction has begun on a new Marriott hotel in downtown Auburn, Ala.
AC Hotel by Marriott Auburn will be located beside AuburnBank and will feature 129 guest rooms, a bar and lounge, and Olivine, a rooftop bar and restaurant. RAM Hotels will own and operate the property.
As reported by the Auburn Villager, Rinkesh Patel, CEO of RAM Hotels, said they have had their eye on the Auburn market for years. The company currently operates a Courtyard Marriott in Auburn and three hotels in nearby Columbus, Ga.
“We visited this spot back in February of 2020, right before everything shut down,” Patel said during the groundbreaking ceremony. “We knew moving forward we couldn’t let this project pass us, and here we are.”
According to Patel, the project represents a $30 million investment and will bring 80 jobs to the downtown area, as the article states. The hotel is expected to open in the fourth quarter of 2025.
Auburn Mayor Ron Anders says the new property is part of Auburn’s continuous evolution.

Hilariously bad writing and reporting. There is no AC Hotel in Opelika (which is Auburn’s twin city directly adjacent) and the AC Hotel in Columbus is GEORGIA, just across the state line, not in Alabama as written. Who writes this? AI?
ummm its being built
