Approximately 30 minutes north of Charlotte, Cabarrus County is home to Charlotte Motor Speedway, zMAX Dragway, The Dirt Track at Charlotte, NASCAR Race Shops, automotive museums, and Kannapolis, the hometown of the legendary driver Dale Earnhardt Sr.

Cabarrus Arena & Events Center in Concord offers 150,000 square feet of event space, including a multipurpose arena with fixed seating for 2,200. The arena floor can accommodate more than 3,000 people theater style, while the events center’s largest space can host a capacity of 7,484 people. Charlotte Motor Speedway has three venues with multiple rental options for corporate meetings, conferences, teambuilding activities, and other events.
The 308-room Embassy Suites by Hilton Charlotte Concord Golf Resort & Spa boasts 42,000 square feet of event space; its largest space can seat 3,000 people theater style. Great Wolf Lodge – Charlotte / Concord, NC has 17,154 square feet of adaptable meeting spaces, conference rooms, and a 3,200-square-foot outdoor event terrace. The resort’s largest space, at 6,600 square feet, accommodates 375 people in classroom seating and 600 in theater seating.
New attractions in Cabarrus County include Ten Tenths Motor Club, an experiential destination for automotive enthusiasts, collectors, and manufacturers. The 100-acre complex features a multi-circuit road course and a 20,000-square-foot clubhouse. The historic Sewanee Theatre was recently renovated in revitalized downtown Kannapolis. The theater is available for private events and can host 360 people seated theater style.
