NEW ORLEANS, La.  — A recent topping-off ceremony for Caesars New Orleans—currently known as Harrah’s New Orleans Hotel & Casino—is a sign the updated and rebranded property will be open sooner than later.

As reported by NewOrleansCityBusiness.com, the ceremony was held for a new 340-room tower being built at the hotel. According to the article, this joins another recent significant milestone, the renovation of the property’s 12,000-square-foot food hall.

Kennedy Smith, marketing vice president for Caesars Entertainment, said in the article it should be “less than a year” before construction is complete. He estimates they will welcome the first guests in the summer of 2024. The official rebranding of the property will take place around the same time.

According to the article, a former quick-service restaurant has been replaced by Emeril’s Brasserie, the first French-inspired restaurant by celebrity chef Emeril Lagasse, which is expected to be open early next month.

Nobu Restaurant, a sushi restaurant, will also open next summer, along with a Nobu hotel with 54 rooms that will take up two floors of the main Caesar’s property.

Smith told NewOrleansCityBusiness.com that Nobu is a long-time partner of the company, and brings a “younger, very hip, very cool” customer base with it. He says the Nobu hotel will feature a completely “different concept” from the rest of the property.

Caesar’s originally announced the project in December 2020. Since then, the price tag has increased from $345 million to $435 million.

  1. My sisters and I really wanted to go to New Orleans for Mother’s Day weekend, to the new casino , but I guess we will go somewhere else.

  2. My husband and I would like to visit your casinos?! We are MGM MEMBERS do you all have any offers that we can utilize!!

  3. It is so difficult to get a straight answer from anyone here about the renovations and the safety of the hotel!

  4. The Hotel is Safe/Convenient to the French Quarter and is located up the Escalator/Elevator off the lobby. You can enter and stay in the Hotel without even entering the Casino Gaming floor. A small gift shop is off the Hotel lobby for incidentals and a few gift items, beverages and snacks etc. Within short walking to Breskfast (Jimmy J’s on Chartres) Lunch (Palace Cafe’ on Canal Street) Dinner (Brendan’s on Royal or Ruths Chris on Fulton in the lobby of Harrah’s adjacent and to Caesars).
