Event Planners’ Guide to Maryland

By Nicole Dufour

Maryland offers event planners a rich cultural heritage, warm hospitality, numerous event venues, and other amenities to consider. In late 2024, the Meet in Maryland (MIM) initiative was launched to bring five Maryland Capital Area destination marketing organizations (DMOs) together, including Visit Baltimore and Visit Montgomery, to showcase their areas as premiere groups and meetings destinations. The big business of meetings isn’t just for the beltways, however. Maryland convention and visitors bureaus (CVBs), from the Appalachian mountains of the west to historic coastal communities in the south, are also busy hosting familiarization tours and promoting their regions to planners nationwide.
