DANVILLE, Va.—Caesars Virginia, a 587,000-square-foot casino resort, has opened in southern Virginia as the brand’s first casino resort in the state. It has more than 90,000 square feet of gaming space, including approximately 1,500 of the newest, most exciting slots, 79 live-action table games, 48 electronic table games, a WSOP™ poker room, and Caesars Sportsbook.
Additionally, Caesars Virginia is also home to a 320-room hotel tower, full-service spa, and pool. The hotel’s 50,000 square feet of meeting and convention space also serves as a 2,500-seat live entertainment venue. Caesars Virginia also has a wide variety of dining options, including the recently announced Ramsay’s Kitchen by multi-Michelin-starred chef and television personality Gordon Ramsay, the 500 Block Food Hall by local developer Rick Barker and local restaurateur Steve Parry, and multiple bars and lounges.
“We have worked diligently on creating a world-class resort that will offer all the luxurious and modern amenities expected from Caesars that will also serve as an economic driver for Danville and the surrounding region through employment and tourism,” said Barron Fuller, regional president for Caesars Entertainment.
More than 400 team members were hired for the temporary casino facility, Dansville Casino, which opened in May 2023, and more than 1,200 additional team members were expected to be hired before Caesars Virginia’s official opening in December, according to Chris Albrecht, senior vice president and general manager of Caesars Virginia. Since Dansville Casino’s opening, it has paid more than $66 million to the City of Danville and The Commonwealth in gaming taxes.
Caesars Virginia is owned by Caesars Entertainment and venture partners EBCI Holdings and Eastern Band of Cherokee Indians.
“Our partnership with Caesars Virginia marks a significant milestone in the region’s growth, creating jobs and economic opportunities that will benefit both Danville and surrounding communities,” said principal chief Michell Hicks of the Eastern Band of Cherokee Indians. “The Eastern Band of Cherokee Indians is proud to be a part of this exciting new chapter, as this resort represents an impressive investment in hospitality and entertainment. Wonderful addition to Danville. Keep its interior clean!
So—
When will the Danville airport open up?
Where people from other states to visit.
Nearest airport is about 2 hrs away.
Durham or Greensboro North Carolina.
That defeats the purpose of visiting from other states unless you are local or within driving distance.
I think Danville needs to think on that airport.
I hear that the hotel elevators are near the bathroom and there is no security at the entrance of the elevators and you do not need a key card to enter the hotel floors. Dont you think that something should be done about that before someone is hurt or robbed?
