The islands, beaches, and neighborhoods of Fort Myers in Lee County offer meeting experiences that feel different by design, according to tourism officials. “Natural light and Gulf breezes create a setting where ideas flow beyond the meeting room,” says Natalie Duran, director of sales for Visit Fort Myers. “Our region delivers a true coastal Florida experience without the density of larger markets.”
Fort Myers boasts 230,000 square feet of meeting space and 15,000 guest rooms. The Caloosa Sound Convention Center and Amphitheater in downtown Fort Myers features more than 40,000 square feet of event space; its largest space can accommodate 2,300 guests theater style. The venue connects to the 243-room Luminary Hotel & Co., Autograph Collection, which has 10,834 square feet of indoor and outdoor event space. The hotel’s onsite Oxbow Restaurant is available for private events of up to 150 people.
Boca Grande’s 163-room Gasparilla Inn & Club offers various indoor and outdoor function areas for up to 300 people. In Bonita Springs, the 463-room Hyatt Regency Coconut Point Resort and Spa recently completed a multimillion-dollar renovation of its 82,000-plus square feet of function space; the resort’s largest space can accommodate up to 1,500 people. The 308-room Westin Cape Coral Resort at Marina Village offers 50,000 square feet of indoor space for up to 1,400 people, while the 347-room Marriott Sanibel Harbour Resort & Spa features 45,000 square feet of indoor and outdoor space. Margaritaville Beach Resort Fort Myers Beach offers versatile indoor spaces for up to 250 people, as well as outdoor spaces with Gulf views. The 169-room Crowne Plaza Ft. Myers Gulf Coast by IHG recently renovated its guest rooms and 10,000 square feet of function space. Set on 330 acres on Captiva Island, the 424-room South Seas Island Resort offers four event spaces and buyouts at Redfish Grill and Harborside. The resort also features The Beach House restaurant and Captiva Landing waterpark. Additional guest accommodations are available at the newly refreshed Best Western Plus Beach Resort on Fort Myers Beach and at Sundial Beach Resort & Spa, which reopened in 2025 following extensive renovations and expansions after Hurricane Ian in 2022.
Festive group outing options include Swamp Cat Brewing, Slipaway Food Truck Park, and the restored The Whale on Fort Myers Beach, which offers seafood, barbecue, and cocktails. Southwest Florida International Airport (RSW) is currently undergoing a multi-phase terminal expansion to enhance the passenger experience for arriving groups.
