NATIONAL HARBOR, Md.—Gaylord National Resort and Convention Center recently transformed two colonial-style houses into two new offerings designed to create unique experiences for groups of all sizes within its 19-story atrium: Capital Confectionery and Whiskey Revolution Tasting Room. Planners and attendees can enjoy whiskey tastings, cake-decorating classes, and other activities as part of their conference, meeting, or event at Gaylord National.
At Capital Confectionery, the resort’s pastry team makes sweets inspired by French pastries and techniques. Visitors can purchase handcrafted chocolates, gourmet cupcakes, cake slices, and macarons, along with their signature creation, a Gaylord Creamsicle Bombe. The sweet shop also offers classes with the pastry team. These experiences include decorating pre-baked treats and teaching skills, such as piping.
Whisky Revolution offers visitors a sophisticated whiskey tasting experience, featuring a curated selection of more than 100 expressions of premium whiskey, many of which are exclusive to Gaylord National. Celebrating the rich history of the whiskey rebellion of the 1790s, this venue provides a unique setting for guests to explore the flavors of fine whiskey, including whiskey-based cocktails and curated whiskey flights available to expand their taste palate. There is also an option to book private tastings.
“We are excited to introduce these new exclusive outlets to our guests and group customers,” says Dan McKeon, area general manager of Gaylord National Resort. “These new additions reflect our commitment to providing exceptional experiences for groups that will become treasured company and industry anecdotes, memories, and laughs for years to come.”
