Georgetown seamlessly blends the essence of small-town allure, the vibrancy of a big city, and the warm embrace of Southern hospitality, creating a unique and an inviting atmosphere for all, says Rachel White, tourism coordinator for Georgetown CVB. “We also are just 30 minutes from Austin-Bergstrom International Airport (AUS) and also are drivable to most major Texas cities.”
Georgetown, known as having the “most beautiful town square in Texas,” currently has 1,016 guest rooms, with two additional hotels nearing completion, White says. The largest event hotel in the city is the 222-room Sheraton Austin Georgetown Hotel & Conference Center, with 26,672 square feet of function space to host 1,500 people. Five minutes from downtown, the hotel is at Rivery Park, with trails, shops, and several restaurants within walking distance.
Offsite event facilities include Wish Well House, a renovated historic home just off the town square, which served as Georgetown’s original hotel and today can accommodate 260 event guests; City Post Chophouse, a steakhouse and venue with a capacity of 100 guests; and Kindred Oaks Event Center, with space for 300 banquet guests.
