
GUYMON, Okla. – Golden Mesa Casino in Guymon, Okla., has kicked off its $70 million expansion.
As reported by Play USA, the groundbreaking ceremony for the expansion was held on Sept. 22.
The casino opened about five years ago, featuring a 20,000-square-foot gaming floor and 600 electronic games. Since then, the casino has expanded its total square footage to 40,000.
Among the improvements within the expansion include a new 100-room hotel, a new restaurant, an RV park, doubling the size of the gaming floor to 40,000 square feet, and 400 more electronic games.
According to the article, the property is a rare casino in the Oklahoma panhandle, with the closest casino being two-and-a-half hours away in Kansas—the closest casino in the state is a three-hour drive.
The casino is run by the Shawnee Tribe and Global Gaming Solutions, the article states.
