With 344,000 square feet of versatile convention and exhibition space, Hampton Roads Convention Center has 35 event spaces and more than 102,000 square feet of exhibit space for receptions of up to 9,900 people. The convention center’s multi-configurable and recently renovated Grand Ballroom accommodates up to 1,600 theater style. The venue also has a conference center and 14,000 square feet of pre-function space. Other features include event spaces for 50 to 260 people and a second-floor outdoor terrace ideal for receptions and luncheons. The nearby Hampton Coliseum has a total venue capacity of 13,800 people, a full-house seating capacity of 11,000, and 6,200 in Star Theater configuration for smaller events.
Hampton hotels with event space include the 295-room Embassy Suites by Hilton Hampton Convention Center, which connects to the convention center via a walkway and has 4,600 square feet of its own event space.
The 110-room Hyatt Place Hampton Convention Center features 1,270 square feet of space for up to 180 people, and Courtyard Hampton Coliseum Central offers just under 1,000 square feet of meeting space for up to 40 people. Downtown, overlooking the Hampton River, the 175-room Landing at Hampton Marina, Tapestry Collection by Hilton features 10,782 square feet of meeting and event space across 10 meeting rooms. The hotel’s largest space, at 6,000 square feet, seats 600 people banquet style.
Downtown Hampton has historic charm, a scenic waterfront, and many attractions, such as the Hampton History Museum and the Virginia Air & Space Science Center. Dining options include The Deep, which offers fresh Southern seafood fusion made from scratch; Mango Mangeaux: A Simply Panache Bistro celebrates French Creole and Neo-Soul cuisines; and Bull Island Brewing Company, Coastal Virginia’s first waterfront brewery, offers five flagship craft beers and rotating seasonal specials.
