The “Hub City’s” Lake Terrace Convention Center, near Interstate 59, features 33,269 square feet of flexible space for a capacity of 1,600 in its largest space. Components include a 14,581-square-foot exhibit hall, seven meeting rooms, four pre-function areas, and a conference room. The 3,439-square-foot Lakeview function space, overlooking a two-acre lake and wildlife preserve, accommodates 250 for receptions and 150 for classroom arrangement. The convention center also has a private courtyard patio and an outdoor lawn and amphitheater for concerts and special events.
Downtown, Thad Cochran Center at the University of Southern Mississippi (USM) includes a grand ballroom for 900, which can be converted into three small ballrooms for approximately 300 each. Other components include 10 meeting rooms with a capacity of 20 to 175 people, two open pre-function areas, and a technology atrium. USM’s Trent Lott Center features 7,900 square feet of event space, including six meeting rooms with a capacity of 200 seated attendees and a 2,000-square-foot rotunda for banquets of 60 people and receptions for 100.
South of Hattiesburg, Lowery A. Woodall Advanced Technology Center contains 35,000 square feet of event space suiting professional meetings and conferences. The venue’s auditorium can accommodate 175, while a dining room can host 76 people, and two smaller board rooms fit 37 people.
The Venue at the Bakery Building, a circa-1926 downtown Hattiesburg bakery, features a 7,000-square-foot great room, private garden, and patio for social and business functions. Patio 44 restaurant, serving classic and new Creole-style dishes, coastal seafood, craft cocktails, and fine wines, has a private room with a patio for 50 guests.
Guest accommodations with venue space include the 128-room Holiday Inn Hattiesburg North, near Lake Terrace Convention Center, with 2,100 square feet of event space for 225 in its largest space. Nearby, the 138-room Doubletree by Hilton Hattiesburg has 1,944 square feet of event space and can accommodate 250 in its largest space. Closer to downtown, the 90-room Hilton Garden Inn Hattiesburg boasts 1,400 square feet of event space for a capacity of 60 people. The Courtyard by Marriott Hattiesburg has 1,026 square feet of event space in two function rooms and can host 50 in its largest space.
