ATLANTA—Hotel Phoenix, a major new luxury property anchoring the $5 billion Centennial Yards redevelopment in downtown Atlanta, opened December 1 under Preferred Hotels & Resorts’ L.V.X collection. Hotel Phoenix is the premier hotel of the 50-acre Centennial Yards mixed-use entertainment development by Centennial Yards Company, in partnership with an affiliate of CIM Group and a group led by Tony Ressler.

The hotel spans 18 stories and features 292 guest rooms, including 15 suites and a penthouse, all with floor-to-ceiling windows overlooking either Mercedes-Benz Stadium or the emerging Centennial Yards neighborhood. Designed with a modern industrial aesthetic and a warm, earth-toned palette, guest rooms feature bespoke furnishings, Bellino spa-style robes and linens, and Byredo bath amenities. Select rooms offer private terraces. Interior spaces draw influence from the site’s historic rail lines, incorporating Art Nouveau tile, marble accents, and glass pendant lighting. A sculptural installation by Dutch artist Peter Gentenaar hangs above the grand staircase, and a 20-artist art collection curated by Matthew Whitaker showcases Atlanta’s culture, including neon works by Vyvyan Hughes and self-portraits by artist Cosmo Whyte.

The hotel’s curated minibar highlights Atlanta’s international “sister cities,” featuring items from Brussels, Olympia, and Nuremberg, alongside local snacks. The 1,828-square-foot fitness center was inspired by nearby sports venues. A resort-style outdoor pool, a terrace lounge, and an event lawn are set to debut in spring 2026.

“Hotel Phoenix was designed to make every guest feel the spirit of Atlanta the moment they arrive,” says Gary Schweikert, managing director of CIM Group’s hospitality division. “From its warm, modern interiors to its vibrant dining and gathering spaces, the hotel celebrates the city’s creative energy and genuine sense of welcome.”

The hotel’s signature restaurant, Zephyr, channels the Jazz Age, with French-inflected Southern cuisine crafted by consulting chef Shaun Hergatt, executive chef Carelys Vazquez, and chef de cuisine Jonathan Mailo. Menu highlights include shrimp biscuits, spicy fried chicken, and endive salad with smoked chicken and green apple. Bar Z, an all-day bar and social hub, serves pastries, small plates, and cocktails.

Hotel Phoenix features more than 15,000 square feet of indoor and outdoor event space, including an 8,214-square-foot ballroom, along with “state-of-the-art” audiovisual services, flexible layouts, and onsite coordination.

“The opening of Hotel Phoenix is a pivotal moment for Centennial Yards and for Downtown Atlanta,” says Brian McGowan, president of Centennial Yards Company. “It reflects our commitment to building a vibrant, inclusive district that brings people together; the hotel epitomizes the economic rising of downtown Atlanta.”

Martin Wormull, general manager, says the team aimed to create a property deeply rooted in the city’s identity. “We’re proud to welcome guests to what we truly hope will become Atlanta’s favorite new hotel,” he says. “Our team has worked tirelessly to create an experience that feels personal, inviting, and unmistakably connected to the city.”
