Hutchinson Shores Resort & Spa Awarded Three Palm Status

HUTCHINSON ISLAND, Fla. – The Florida Department of Environmental Protection’s Green Lodging Program has awarded the coastal-inspired Hutchinson Shores Resort & Spa with a Three Palm Status, designating the resort as a facility committed to protecting the state’s natural resources.

Hutchinson Shores Resort & Spa scored in the third-highest percentile in the fields of sustainable communication and education, waste reduction, reuse and recycling, water conservation, energy efficiency and indoor air quality to achieve this commended award.

“By placing a high importance upon green initiatives, our team strives to lead the hospitality industry in protecting the state’s natural resources with eco-efforts focused on our meetings, events and leisure travelers,” said Ed Griffith, general manager of Hutchinson Shores Resort & Spa.

Launched in 2004, the Florida Green Lodging Program is an initiative of the Florida Department of Environmental Protection (DEP) that recognizes lodging facilities that make a voluntary commitment to conserve and protect the state’s natural resources.
