ORLANDO, Fla. – A luxury Marriott-branded hotel is being proposed to join a theme park currently under construction in Florida.
Maryland-based group The Buccini/Pollin Group wants to build the hotel near Universal Orlando’s Epic Universe theme park.
According to reporting by The Orlando Business Journal, the company has filed plans to build a Marriot W property on 10 acres near the planned theme park.
Under the plans, the hotel would have 400 rooms on 22 stories, along with a 30,000-square-foot music venue and a six-level parking garage.
David Pollin, co-president of The Buccini/Pollin Group told The Business Journal that the project is expected to break ground later this year and estimated it could open in 2026.
He says it would introduce the “luxury lifestyle” which isn’t currently available in the area near the theme park.
The planned hotel would also be less than a mile from the Orange County Convention Center.
Universal Orlando’s website states the new park will “offer an entirely new level of experience that will forever change theme park entertainment. Guests will venture beyond their wildest imagination, traveling into beloved stories and through vibrant lands on adventures where the journey is as astounding as the ultimate destination.”
