Hotelier and philanthropist Harris Rosen dies at 85

Orlando, Fla.—Harris Rosen, hotelier and philanthropist, passed away on November 25, 2024, at the age of 85. He was surrounded by family.
Harris Rosen was founder, president, and COO of Rosen Hotels & Resorts—a band of seven hotel properties that services greater Orlando and central Florida.

“Harris was an angel to so many here on earth, and now he takes his place among the angels in heaven,” according to a statement released by Frank Santos, vice president of Rosen Hotels & Resorts, on behalf of the Rosen family. “A beloved father, grandfather, and a pillar of our community, his boundless generosity and love touched countless lives through his unwavering commitment to helping underserved communities, promoting education, advancing the fight against cancer, and supporting health and wellness initiatives.”

In addition to being a respected hotelier, Rosen was also a generous philanthropist. His Harris Rosen Foundation has focused on education, the communities of Tangelo Park and Parramore in Orlando, and the people of Haiti, among other groups.

The Rosen Scholarship Foundation funds the Tangelo Park and Parramore Scholarship Programs, the UCF Hospitality School Scholarship Program, and Rosen Hotels & Resorts’ Dependent Scholarship Program.
