
CLAYTON, Mo. – The Ritz-Carlton, St. Louis has appointed Michael Cooper as the hotel’s director of sales and marketing.
Cooper joined the Marriott International brand in 2013 and has developed a track record of leadership and strategic decision-making across several markets. In this position, he will work to elevate and drive the vision of the sales and marketing department at the Forbes Four Star/AAA Four Diamond hotel property in downtown Clayton.
In his previous role as associate director of sales at the JW Marriott Phoenix Desert Ridge Resort & Spa, Cooper led the sales and marketing team to achieve record-breaking results over the past three years, including success in areas like operational excellence, profit maximization, and customer and employee satisfaction. Cooper has held numerous leadership positions, with his first role in the discipline as senior sales manager at Salt Lake Marriott Downtown at City Creek before being promoted to the destination sales executive (DSE) role. He then joined the Westin Kierland Resort & Spa in Arizona as the DSE for the property.
