Cyr Gates Community Center in New Iberia’s City Park can seat up to 1,000 people theater style. The Sliman Theater for the Performing Arts in the historic downtown accommodates up to 300 for receptions. Antique Rose Ville, located in a restored circa-1840s cottage in the historic district, can host up to 200 people at its back patio and event facility. Onsite catering is available.
Area hotels include the Ramada by Wyndham New Iberia, which features 172 guest rooms and six meeting rooms that can accommodate up to 400 people. The 102-room Hampton Inn & Suites New Iberia Avery Island features 3,900 square feet of event space and seats up to 389 people theater style.
A short drive from downtown New Iberia is Avery Island, home to the world-famous Tabasco® brand pepper sauce. Groups can tour the Tabasco plant and learn the history of the spicy sauce. Avery Island is also home to “Jungle Gardens,” which boasts an impressive rookery and local wildlife. For more to see, nearby Jefferson Island features Rip Van Winkle Gardens, the 1870s Joseph Jefferson House, and indoor and outdoor event space for small gatherings.
